Fabric Stain Guide

Nail Polish - Always read and follow the care instructions and any warnings on the garment label. And, follow these General Rules for stain removal.

For stains from nail polish, apply nail polish remover to the back of the stain while laying the fabric on white absorbent towels. Replace towels frequently.

Then rinse and launder.

Never use nail polish remover on acetate, triacetate or modacrylic, as they will dissolve. Take these fabrics to the dry cleaner.

Carpet - Use nail polish remover to blot the nail polish out. Using too much will eat through the backing. Wash the spot with a mild detergent and warm water after that.

use your nails to chip it off, or let time and it will wear off by iteself. (may take a while, unless you work with your hands)

wait till it chips off
Applying another coat does help once removed immediately. However, if you have more than one coat on you may need to repeat.
paint remover,

gasoline,

alcohol
sandpaper or scrape the paints off
I would try to apply another coat of nail polish to a nail and immedialty remove the polish from that nail. This has worked for me.
Rubbing alcohol, takes a lil longer but is slightly effective when theres nothing else. Or go to your chemistry teacher and ask for some acetone.
I agree with the last answer..I have tried to apply a second coat and it worked fine in removing the other coat!
Well i dont know how this would work on all your nails but I had one coat of one color on then put on a coat of another color and wiped my nail with a cotton ball and all the color came off my nail. I dont think it would work that well on 10 fingers though. I would suggest you not paint your nails until you can afford some

use sally hansen nail polish. I think its called ';Strength and Repair';. Anyway, the polish looks purple in the bottle, but goes on clear, and makes them look nice. You can find it at CVS and Walgreens, etc....
If you are in the UK try;

Maximum Growth

by Sally Hansen

It comes like a pen, with a brush top, you screw the pen and it releases a drop of this ointment each time. You brush it on the cuticles and the nails. It contains a high dose of nutrients for the nails. IMO, it truely is miracolous. For years my nails never grew...and a friend recommended it, after 3 weeks I had long strong nails.

What i like about it is that it dries up, and it looks like you have nothing on your nails at all.......no shine! In fact to get proper use from this product , your nails need to be clean of varnish so as they can absorb it.

Mind you I am in the UK.....I just bought it in a local Pharmacy. I think it's a French Product though.

Failing that, you should just rub in any vegetable oil, apparently!
drink milk-

take vitamins
If you just pulled them off by yourself, go to Long's and get a buffer and buff your nails so they don't look so bad, then get some nail hardener, it will help your nails be stronger and not as brittle.
Use mystic clear nail polish twice a day. But you just have to wait till they grow out.
I'm Guessing Putting Clear Nail Polish And Don't Put Acrylic Nails For A Very Long While.
Get some clear nail polish nails strengthener. Apply it a few times a day. It is also called nail hardener.
I'm not sure if this will strengthen your nails, but it will make them healthier. Find some vitamin E oil and massage it into each and every one of your finger nails.
NO, the nails have to grow all the way out, cut them down as low as you can. This could take months. I had them for 4 years and it took 6 months before my real nails would stay grown and not break easily. The problem is the fake ones damage the matrix and it takes time to repair even if you put creams and stuff on them.
theres this special nail polish

if you go to any drug store or nail salon theyll show it to you
OPI Nail Envy - original.

The BEST stuff! I wouldn't be without it. It goes on %26amp; comes off just like regular nail polish.

It can't fix the nails you've damaged with the acrylic but it can add strength and support to them so they're not so weak. Keep them trimmed very short until the good nail part starts to grow out. I like it so much I just kept using it. Haven't needed acrylics for years now because of OPI.
witchcraft nail hardener is good
You may need to cut them down and allow them to grow back stronger. Acrylics are really bad for your nails (but look really nice, I know). I would suggest cutting them down and applying a harder like ';hard as nails'; by sally hansen or go to the local beauty supply store and ask what the best nail hardner is. Overall, just try not to pick at them or they will peel and give it time. They will toughen back up on their own. Good Luck
pinch them on raw garlic cloves... u can do it everyday till u see a difference. im not sure what, but there's something in raw garlic that makes the nails stronger. just be patient cuz results usually shows after a few months.
Thats happened to me before and i used OPI Nail Treatments Nail Envy and it worked really well.

Is there any other ways that you can remove nail polish from acrylic nails besides going to the nail shop?

because sho'nuff regular nail polish aint workin' for me. plus, its taking forever. is there any nail polish removers for acrylic nails at stores, like walgreens or anything?

thankss! =]Is there any other ways that you can remove nail polish from acrylic nails besides going to the nail shop?
You have to buy what they call ';Non- acetone'; polish remover. It will take the polish off without harming the acrylic. If you want to remove the acrylic nails, then you use the ';acetone'; and it sorta melts it off.

You can buy the non-acetone remover in any store. It is the department with the nail items. Including the regular polish remover. Just be sure to get the right one. The regular polish remover has acetone in it and will make a mess on your nails and will not get the polish off.

Hope this will help........lol :)Is there any other ways that you can remove nail polish from acrylic nails besides going to the nail shop?
yeah, if you soak your nail in nail polish remover [non acetone] it should come right off, you might have to rub a bit,

or you can try filing the top of your nails with a nail filer.
i stopped using regular nail polish remover years ago, it takes forever even on real nails

use pure acetone. its usually with all the nail products right in the drugstore and its what they use in salons. be careful, though. only use it outside or in a well ventilated place. it is a chemical after all
    Just use a grinder
yes there is ... and you can find it in any beauty supply...
I use any cheap nail polish remover without acetone. It comes off just as easly as it comes off without acrylic nails.
    Pure acetone.

Sometimes rubbing alcohol works. Just depends on the brand of nailpolish. Never heard of hairspray working.
no hairspray won't work. The you could try repainting them and rubbing the polish off while its still wet. Its messy but its worked for me before
JUST TRY IT .. YOU WILL KNOW IT IS GOOD OR NOT ..
You can bite the polish off...seriously...I have done it many times before.
put clear nailpolish on it then wipe it off with like a tissue or something (when it's still wet).. that should work haha good luck
FGS! just use the remover already, and don't try any of the other nasty ways! wash your toes immediately after and moisturize

Polish is basically paint. If nail polish remover didn't work then you have some issues ahead of you. Try GOOP the hand cleaner or buy some pure acetone at the hardware store. It may bleach the carpet but you have to choose between bright red or faded brown at this point. Good Luck!Does anyone know a way to remove nail polish off a carpet ?
There is this stuff that you can by at most grocery stores called goo-gone, just put some of that to rub it off, and it should come right out with no problem.
It varies on the type of carpet you have. Finger nail polish remover will usually work provided it is acetone free. Leave a small puddle on stain for 20 minutes and blot up. Do not rub. Simply Green will sometimes work. Test in small inconspicuous place first. Ice also works. Apply ice to the stain the same way you would if it were gum. Take a toe nail clipper after the area is good and cold and pull the stain out of carpet.
Try some of the tips from these web sites. Test in an inconspicuous place first!

One of the most common problem that we encounter as leather technicians is nail varnish. The second most common is nail varnish remover that has damaged the leather. (10 this week alone)

Please DO NOT use nail varnish remover. It may not remove the nail polish but it will damage the finish on your leather.

Magic Erasers will only work by damaging the finish on the leather as you would need to scrub very hard to remove nail polish (which is essentially a paint).

This sort of damage is best left to a specialist leather technician who will have the correct products to repair the damage. No cleaning products bought over the counter will be strong enough to resolve the problem and you will need a colour to match your leather (please do not try DIY kits for this as they do not work - particulalry on two tone leathers)

If you are in the UK contact LTT who have a network of technicians who are qualified to do this type of work.

it looks better i guess but its not sanitary. the cuticle is supposed to be a barrier between your nail and your finger and if cut germs can get inside much easier. i used to go to Asian salons and I just used to say loudly '; NO CUT!'; and point to my cuticle.

without damaging the floor? Can i remove nail polish from a wood floor?
You can, but you will have to be careful, as it is difficult to remove without also removing the finish. The trick is to remove the stain without removing all the layers of surface finish.

My suggestion is to try something like Murphy wood cleaner and plastic scouring pads. You might then next try using a fine steel wool pad gently with some wood floor cleaner like Murphy Oil Soap.

Then, just rinse and dry the area. If floor finish or wax has been removed in that area, you may need to recoat with appropriate finish or wax. But hey, the nail polish is gone and your floor is all the better for it.Can i remove nail polish from a wood floor?
I assume that this is COLORED nail polish you're referring to. If it were to be CLEAR polish, there shouldn't be much of a problem. For COLORED nail polish on a finished wooden floor, I believe if you were VERY CAREFUL to mask off SECURELY with a good masking tape around the nail polish spot, and then PAINSTAKINGLY brush a little nail polish REMOVER over the spot and immediately absorb the desolved nail polish -- down to the point where you could see the wood flooring begin to appear. At that point you should stop the nail polish remover treatment and remove the masking tape and attempt by lightly sanding the immediate area previously covered by the nail polish to bring it back to its original wood surface. Then, you probably would have to retouch the spot with a coating of clear varnish %26amp; wax (after the varnish is dry).

Why do you have to remove nail polish before surgery?

It seems before any surgery, the prep sheet tells you to remove nail polish. Why do you have to remove nail polish before surgery?
Because general anaesthetic can effect circulation. Changes in the colour of nail beds is one of first signs that there is a change. They need to see what colour they are before you go under, and during. Spotting signs as early as possible can reduce problems associated with the side effects of general anaesthetic.

Despite the rise in plastic surgeries, general anaesthetic is still not without its risks. Why do you have to remove nail polish before surgery?
ya its natural,no ornament ,nothing extra thing on ur body ,all they use is sterilize and so no infection atall.so remove nailpolish is good .
The doctors and nurses pay attention to the color of your nail beds. If your nail beds are getting darker in color (purplish) then there could be a problem.
its coz when they du the surgery they use certain chemicals %26amp; those chemicals can react with the nail polish wich can be highly effective so thats why they u 2 remove it
so if you die the undertaker won't have to do it.
    looking for color.
The first couple answers you received are correct. Nail polish needs to be removed so if there is a lack of oxygen, the doctors will notice it first in your external limbs farthest from your heart first...as in your fingernails.
The anesthesiologist needs to see your fingertips and make sure they're normal color. If they're pale or blue, then you're not receiving enough oxygen, and they need to correct that to prevent brain damage.
This is so the docs and nurses can make sure blood flow is still normal in your limbs.
I never knew you had to remove it. I have had 3 operatiosn and always had nail polish on.
THE DR ALWAYS CHECK YOUR FINGER NAILS TO SEE IF THEY'VE TURNED BLUE--------BIG TROUBLE IF THEY DO------TAKE IT OFF-----THE SAME GOES FOR LIPSTICK-----THE DR CHECKS YOUR LIPS FOR LACK OF OXYGEN

    O R NURSE

    AB
Because some of the polishes contain metal. Some of the instruments used in surgery are magnetic, and they want to be extra careful when doing it.
The anethesist and the nurses use your finger and toes (nail beds) to see if the oxygen is getting through to where your body needs it. Sometimes an anesthetic can cause a patient to not get enough oxygen in, so since your extremities are easily accessible and visual, they use your hands. I have never heard of nail polish ever reacting with drugs or interfering with OR instruments, but I have heard also of the nail polish chipping and getting into the open wound. That in turn can cause an infection, which can be severe if the cause is not readily known. I have been in health care field for almost eight years now....so as a good rule of measure....NEVER wear your nail polish when you have any surgery done.
docs and nurses can see if your blood and oxygen levels are flowing correctly by looking at your finger nails, kind of a window to the inside.

patience, and alot of polish. pretty much you're waiting for new nail to grow in. in the meantime you want to keep your nails from breaking off all of the time. just add a few extra layers of polish, and be sure to polish under the nail tip too.
i agree with the rest of them. mine have been through almost 2 yrs of non-stop acrylic.i stopped getting them done about 3-4 months ago and now i have completly grown out the brittle part of it and have strong thick nails. i always lotion my hands and pay special care to my cuticles...making sure i rub some lotion in and around my nail(dont know if it works, but it helped me) but if you would like them to grow faster-eat JELL-O yup that's right, jello, the gelatin in it helps your nails grow faster since this is what it needs to grow
try putting a clear base with strengthers n keep them short......also if u want them looking nice a manicure once in a while will help
    nail strengthener
theres a product called silk wrap for nails, dont know who makes it though, it helped restore my nails. eating royal jelly capsules really strengthens nails..i know what your going through, had my last acrylics done in august last year and only now have my nails recovered x

How do I protect my nails after removing acrylic nails?

I went to this nail place and they did a terrible job and the acrylic nails all came loose so I removed them. I know I should of gotten them removed and replyed professionally but I thought I could save some cash by doing it my self. They are now very thin and sharp. A girl friend said I should leave them to breath for a week before getting them redone.. How do I protect them in the mean time?

I have a pretty physical job and I am afraid of tearing or braking them. How do I protect my nails after removing acrylic nails?
You shouldve confronted the person about the nails in the first place, they wouldve fix it for you.. My mom owns a salon so i know. They wouldnt have charge you for fixing it cuz the person obviously cant do their job right. Just remember you're the one thats paying, so speak up and tell em. For now use a nail strengthener... hope this helpsHow do I protect my nails after removing acrylic nails?
There is nail polishes made for reconditioning nails after artifical nail removal, but since you are trying to cut cose. I would buff them, put cuticle cream nightly, and just let them grow back. If you're job is very physical you may want to rethink having fake nails.

How can you remove nail polish without acetone?

I painted my nails and found that i didn't like the color..

is there a way you can remove nail polish without nail polish remover? We're out.. thanks! How can you remove nail polish without acetone?
soak them in water warm water, then they'll just peel off. You can apply another thick coat of nail polish and scrape the whole thing off. However, you need to do this one nail at a time. Sometimes rubbing alcohol works but it takes a really long time. How can you remove nail polish without acetone?
Hold your hands in or under hot or warm water for awhile and while doing so gently scrap the paint off. Paint over it with a darker color. I'm not sure if rubbing alcohol has any acetone or not if it doesn't than i would try it.
there is non acetone polish remover...
im outt too. i painted my nails %26amp;%26amp; hate dem. but i dont hav remover rite now : )

Anyone got tips on how to remove nail varnish from surfaces?

I recently got dark red nail varnish on some of my piano keys.

Stupidly I ran straight to the nail varnish remover.

The dark red colour itself has gone but I'm worried the coating of the keys has come off as they are now duller than they were before.

Is it possible to buy new keys to replace the marked ones, or is there a way of cleaning them?

How much would it cost?Anyone got tips on how to remove nail varnish from surfaces?
Squeeze a small amount of a mild non-coloured toothpaste on to a damp lint-free cloth, and gently rub the piano keys, then wipe the keys clean with a second lint-free cloth that has been dipped in fresh milk. Use the milk to rinse the toothpaste off the keys without using any harmful chemicals that discolor the ivory. Give the piano keys a few minutes to air dry, and then buff them with a clean lint-free cloth.

Removing nailpolish withought nail polish remover?

okay so i was painting my nails with my new nailpolish and i finished and i had to help clean and my nails werent quite dry and my parents were yelling at me and i figured my nails HAD to my dry.. i was really careful but it turns out that my nails got wrecked.. and i dont have nailpolish remover and it looks HORRIBLE! So i was wondering if i could take it off withought polish remover some how.

    is it possible?

    how?

with what?Removing nailpolish withought nail polish remover?
I've done it before by adding more polish and then rubbing it off. It may not take off all the polish but it will smooth it out and and then you can re-apply polish.Removing nailpolish withought nail polish remover?
well...it might not look perfect, but take a really glossy and thick nail polish that comes out a lot...then get a paper towel, and put that thick nailpolish on your nail, (smuther it all over and side to side) and then take the paper towel or wash cloth etc..and wipe it off
I'd say if you can, go out and buy some actual remover.

If it's not possible, I suppose you could check around the house for any kind of chemical with a large concentration of acetone. This is risky though, and you could badly damage your skin and nails. I don't really suggest it.
Scrub it off using water......if dat doesn't work ur out of luck
    Alcahol
I NEVER paint my nails unless I have nail polish remover somewhere....you could use a lighter color polish and repaint over the wrecked stuff and use a soft cloth and wipe it off right away, that will help remove some of it but as far as near your cuticles and stuff you really need the remover.....Good Luck!
    try some rubbing alcohol
put another coat of nail polish on, and while it's still wet, wipe it off with a cotton ball or something similar.. it's will take what you already have on, off.. it doesn't matter what color it is, or anything like that.
its gonna sound weird but paint over you nails with nail polish then rub it while its off and the new paint will take off the old. but it can get messy!
Usually when I chip my nails and I'm outta the house, I pick it off.
if u have CLEAR nail polish

up it on one by one

and and soon as u put it on take it off(dont let it dry) and the nail polish u had under the clear one should come off

u one nail at a time

IT WORKS TRUST ME I HAVE BEEN THERE
dont listen to any of them you will wrek your nails w8 4 them to dry then apply more nail varnish and rub of with tissue before that dries.
i just chip it off with my finger nails that are long,

or run to the store and get some!
soften it up with warm water to get it gooey then take rubbing alchohol, pour it over, then scratch it off with ur nail or a file or something
something sharp to scratch it off maybe?

    sorry,

    i duno
This might sound ridiculous but it has worked for me. Put nailpolish on again and straight away wipe the nail. It usually removes it. It won't look perfect but it will work till you get some remover.
This is tough. I have had this happen and all you can do is paint on another coat which will soften what is there... then wipe it off with a cotton ball.... there will be polish on the edges but you can re-do them and you won't have all those smudges....

    Good luck....
If it wasn't dry to begin with you can probably just pick at it and peel it off.
This probably isn't too helpful, but have you tried to chip it off?

It's a bit messy so do over a trash can or something. I honestly don't think there's anything else other than nail polish remover to get nail polish off.
    warm water...
well, nail polish remover obviously works best, but u could take that sand paper stick to file your nails with and scrap it off. if works but leaves your nails scratched up and rugged. just buy the remover.
do your parents have paint thinner?
    rubbing alchohol?

Can you remove the fabric? If so, then take it to a professional cleaner and ask them if they can remove it. If not, then call an upholstery cleaner and they might be able to quote you a price over the phone
I don't think you can - but you can always splash more green over it and make it look extra funky!! LOL
    nail polish remover.
Nail varnish remover probably, then stain remover?
I suspect stain devil uses amyl acetate and this dissolves acetate rayon. It is not likely that a furnishing fabric will have acetate rayon but it is possible. As an ex professional stain remover I would advise great caution as it is easy to remove the varnish and leave the colour. If it was just a garment I may give you some tips but for an expensive item such as a sofa bed I would recommend professional help from a reputable upholstery cleaner. Also check your household insurance they may cover this and some insurance companies like to use certain cleaners

How to remove nail polish from wooden kitchen cabinets?

You need to consult a professional refinisher (unless one responds here) because I believe that nail polish remover will strip the finish off the wood... I put the cap down on a table once and it had a drop of remover on it - I had a ring where it took off the finish down to the bare wood. Good luckHow to remove nail polish from wooden kitchen cabinets?
Having built alot of furniture over the years I would advise against using nail polish remover, it will indeed most likely damage your finish. Also, please DO NOT use an abrasive as that will damage the finish for sure. If something like Orange Glow or plain soap and water will not remove it than I would indeed see about a refinisher for help. How to remove nail polish from wooden kitchen cabinets?
You need to use nail varnish remover. Pour enough of the remover over the spillage to cover it.Leave for a few minutes and the rub it with some cotton wool. Don't panic it does get remove it. My sister spilt a bottle over my dining table.Just keep rubbing it with the cotton wool. Good luck!!

How to remove Nail Polish from Hardwood Floor?

HI. My kid dumped nail polish on my hardwood floor. How do I remove the nail polish without damaging the finish on the floor???How to remove Nail Polish from Hardwood Floor?
There are non-acetone nail polish removers. Try buying some and try using it on an area of the floor that won't show first. Only use enough to dampen a soft cloth. Then, if it doesn't take the finish off, work slowly and gently over the polish without trying to get any on the rest of the floor. If non-acetone remover isn't strong enough and the stain is very noticable, you might have to go with the stonger type of remover. If the finish ends up coming off, you can try to match it with something like Polystain. Use thin coats, applied with a sponge brush, and sand with very fine (220 grit) sandpaper between coats to smooth and level it. It may not come out perfect, but it will porbably be a lot less noticable than the nail polish stain. How to remove Nail Polish from Hardwood Floor?
Making a rather big assumption that you actually have a true hardwood floor and that because you know its value and wish to properly care for it, you have a carefully applied paste wax on it. then you may use acetone (regular nail polish remover) to remove the nail polish, but don't scrub, just wipe with a clean cloth wetted with acetone, and then reapply wax to the spot.
Do not use nail polish, it will destroy the finish on your floor. Try to scrape it off slowly. Or you can wait a while and let it sit there, eventually it will go alway.

try rubbing cooking oil on it and let it sit, than try to scrape it off.
use paint thiner that if you have the pre finish hard wood floor
If this is a prefinished floor and you have some left over pieces than put some nail polish on that piece, dry, than go to the paint store and ask for a trial run of some solvents. If you do as nightstal says, then you'll be very sorry in under 90seconds!!!!!
try using your fingernail to scrape it off. I spilled paint on my hardwood floor and got it off this way.
Best bet is scrape it off.
there is not really any good way to remove the nail polish without a little damage to the finish, but i have removed it with a polish remover without acetone and this worked pretty well. just dampen a rag and do not saturate the area wipe a little at a time until it comes off. or you could use a product called goof off i hear this is good too.
not with n/p remover, I spilt some on my floor and it took the varnish right off

    cant you scrap it off

Soak your nails for 15-20 min. in acetone nail polish remover. That should do the trick. Don't take such long showers to keep it from coming off. And how do you manage to take an hour long shower every day. Your water bill must be something else. It takes me about 10 min to shower. It is so drying for your skin and hair to be in the hot water so long. Goodness. Hope that helps. I'm sure your shower time will decrease as you age. No, because nail varnish isn't natural, you need a chemical like acetone to remove it.

Paint remover will take it off but it's too strong for most people's skin and it's not recommended to be in physical contact with it for too long.

As I recall there was one Anne Klein perfume I once had that I had to stop using because it would soften my nail polish, but I can't remember the name of it or if it's still being sold. I suspect it had acetone in it for some reason.

Rubbing alcohol, but it takes longer and it's not very good for your skin, so use it if you have to and get nail polish remover for next time. you could use a paint thinner or mineral spirits to take it off.
You can gently sand it off with an emery board.
You might try alcohol or peroxide???? Just a wild guess but it just might work....where did you *put* this nail polish? Is it in an ';odd'; place where you need it off right away? I need more details!!! Details! Details!

for white carpets use a product called FOLEX available at larger grocerys. wet the stain thouroughly and place a warm (not hot) iron on a towel over the stain. this is called a transfer and the stain should pull up into the towel. afterwards wet the stain down again, let dry completely, and then vacum with a strong carpet vac...good luck....

How can I remove nail polish from my daughters clothes?

My 2 yr. old daugther got a hold of my nail polish and she spilled it all over her new clothes. Does anyone know how to remove nail polish stains from clothing. How can I remove nail polish from my daughters clothes?
soak it in water first. just like if you painted your nails then got in the tub the polish would soften and come off. it does pretty much the same thing with clothes. Soak them for a hour or two then scrap it off. If a spot remains you can use a little bit of acetone free nail polish remover and a small amount of color safe bleach. that should get it all out.How can I remove nail polish from my daughters clothes?
Apply acetone, not nail polish remover. You should be able to buy it from the chemist.............:)
Have you tried using nail polish remover on a small portion of her clothes? If it works and does not damage her clothing, then you've got a winner. Good luck! :)
well have you tried bleaching it if is white but if it isnt try hand scrubbing and washing then hang drying and if that does not work i dont know what will
Have you tried nail polish remover?
    Oooh, tough one!

    Have you tried:

    1. Non Acetone polish remover

    2. WD-40

    3. old standby of paste of detergent and let it set then soak and wash

NOTE: DO NOT use all 3 together! Try one then if no luck launder in cold water then the next and so on.
My daughter did the same thing last year at christmas. I could not find anything to remove the stain. I think maybe if I would have caught it when it was still wet, I might have had better luck!
I once spilled nail polish on a new pair of jeans (I was so ticked) so I took nail polish remover and carefully poured it on the spot just where the nail polish was and it all came out. If it spilled on clothing that is material other than cotton, then I would be careful. And also, to be gentle on the clothes, maybe water it down first. Hope this helps, good luck!

How do I remove nail polish from the leather interior of a car?

A few years ago, the boss turned up at work with pink nail polish splattered across the white leather dash of a his wife's BMW after a ';business conference';. It was a great joke about the place for weeks.

The detailers used normal Acetone to remove the nail polish then Aloe Vera to clean and nourish the leather bringing back the original texture and lustre.

I have noticed recently that a lot of the leather refurbishment creams on the market use Aloe Vera to bring back the leather and fight off that worn look.

Mequiars have a leather cleaner and conditioner on the market that may be of interest to you.How do I remove nail polish from the leather interior of a car?
Carefully apply acetone to an unseen portion of the upholstery to check its resistance to the chemical.(same as nail polish remover) I personally would try and pick it off, and with any success there, mask around the area with tape and try a scotchbrite pad rubbbed lightly. Solvents such as acetone may tend to allow the color of the polish to amalgamate into the leather, permanately. By the way, vehicle owners manuals often do have very helpful hints for things like this under cleaning and care of the interior. How do I remove nail polish from the leather interior of a car?
Heat gun.....don't heat it up to the point that it liquidfies again....just enough to get it to the point where it is sort of carmalized......sticky to the touch.....you should then be able to peel it off relatively easily without worrying about the color bleeding onto the leather. Good suggestion though, perhaps painting your nails in a moving vehicle may not be the best idea.
I would use a diluted form of nail polish remover. Don't rub it either but blot the nail polish off. Rubbing with an alcoholic abbrasive on leather might do some damage and using a non diluted nail polish remover will discolor the leather.
I think you need to keep the nail polish applier out of the frikkin' car.
There is an upholstery/carpet cleaner called Folex.

    Removing Nail Polish Stains?

omg... i had this CRAZY idea that maybe, just maybe, u could use nail polish remover!! wait no...nail polish remver probably wont remove nail polish...
Soak them, buff them, clean them thoroughly.
its gonna sound gross but vinager.
there is really not any way to remove it completely but there are some tips

next time you apply a dark nail polish- remember to put on a base coat to protect your nails, which would also minimize these effects for the actual nail.

first when removing it with the nail polish remover- before you do so- put some oil under your nails and on your cuticles, something like jojoba or vitamin e should help.next put the nail polish remover on ure cotton pad and place it on your nail, press it on the nail for a few seconds without budging- then move it from side to side and then quickly move it off to the end, don't move it back and forth as it is push the polish under your cuticles.use a q-tip or wrap some cotton on a stick and carefully try to get under the cuticles.

i also find that after using dark colours, you can try to cover it up and paint your nails with white nail polish, then when you remove that the dark bits should be less apparent.

if all else fails you could buff them a bit to remove this discolouration.
i know that you can use hairspray to get it off carpets...

    maybe it will work
methylated spirits really works when that happens :)
    nail polish removerrrr,

Why do you have to remove nail polish before you have surgery?

It wasn't that big of a deal to me but I was just wondering why and I didn't think to ask the doctors yesterday. Why do you have to remove nail polish before you have surgery?
Your nail beds turn blue if you're not getting enough oxygen, so that's one way they can monitor it is by looking at your fingernails.

I hope you're feeling better!!!Why do you have to remove nail polish before you have surgery?
so they can see through your nails to determine if you have blood flowing through - if they start turning blue or purple it means you are not getting enough oxygen and they know it is an emergency. if you have nail polish on, they won't be able to tell.
The chemicals in nail polish react with some of the chemicals used in surgery.

When I was a renter and had stains on the walls I used craft paints mixed with white wall paint to match the color of the wall and then used it to touch up the left behind spots. try scraping it off with your teeth. if that doesn't work, lick it. sometimes, your tongue works better than your teeth because it has these hooks that just grab onto anything it touches. its actually quite amazing. the tongue is one of the most important parts of your body. did you know that there is this thing called a firdityongular on your tongue and thats what makes it all reddish looking? also, the tongue has different sections on it that helps you taste different things. also, if you cut off the tongue, it regenerates and grows a tongue on the tongue!!! kind of like in the disney movie hercules, when he fights that snake like monster(that part is sooo scary i totally pissed in my pants. but of course i used my tongue to clean that up too because its just so incredibly amazing), and hercules chops off the heads and they just all grow more heads!! good graphics that movie has. you know what else has good graphics? porn. the animation for that stuff is just unbelievable. how do they make it so realistic? in conclusion, tongues are the reason good graphics/animation exist in the world. p.s for more info about tongues go to www.tongues.com i get a lot of my research from there. speaking of research. ever heard of yahoo? great place. has a good ask and answer page..you should check it outHow do I remove nail polish from a wall without taking the paint off with it?

Put a tiny bit of non-acetone nail polish remover on a Q-tip and test your fabric inside one of the seams or in a spot you can't see easily. If the fabric discolors, you should just leave the polish there. If it looks ok after 10 minutes, use the Q-tip on the polish stain and then wash your comforter. If you can't wash it, place a folded up towel under the bad spot and use a wet wash cloth and mild soap to spot-wash. Nail polish has been spilled on the metal drawer pull of my dresser. the metal doesn't have any other paint or anything else on it, just plain metal. i really should get this off, i don't want to hurt the patina (it's fairly old, probably pre-1920), but the patina isn't *that* important. thanks! Can you remove nail polish from metal?

Is there anyway to remove nail polish from a leather sofa?

My four year old daughter has gotten fingernail polish on my new leather sofa. Is the couch ruined or is there a way to safely remove it without damaging my sofa?Is there anyway to remove nail polish from a leather sofa?
Basically you have redyed the leather. If the nail polish will not peel off then it will need to be removed with solvents which will also remove finish and pigment which will then need replacing.

This job is best left to a qualified leather technician.

Please do not try using nail varnish remover as this will definitely damage the finish on your leather. Is there anyway to remove nail polish from a leather sofa?
I am not sure but what ever you do, do not use nail polish remover! I was stupid and tried that and now there is a dull spot where I wiped it and it is really dry, probably from the acetone. I am sure you figured that but just in case you were like me, in a hurry to get things done....did you get a warranty? I did with my leather furniture and they said we could take a knife to it and it would get replaced at no charge. Of course the furniture was five years old and the warranty was already up when this happened. GOOD LUCK!

How do you remove nail polish stains on your nails?

Not the actual nail polish, but the stain it leaves once you take it off..( the black stain). How do you remove nail polish stains on your nails?
Buff them lightly to remove them.

Scrub your nails with a nail brush with warm soapy water.

Use lemon or toothpaste to remove stains a little.

This will help move most or a little stain. Usually it takes time for it to grow out.

How do you remove nail polish stains on your nails?
Im not sure how to get rid of the stain but I can tell you how to prevent it in future. Use a clear base coat to keep the color from sinking into your nail. Just apply it like regular nail polish, allow to try for a minute then apply your nail polish %26amp; then a top coat.
In future don't use cheap nail polish without first putting on a base coat. But since we do anyway the best way to reduce the stains is to go without nail polish for a couple weeks.
    2 suggestions:

1 - soak finger nails in pure lime juice and also rub the lime juice over the nails with cotton.

2 - learn from this mistake and use base coat the next time.
c'mon, I'm a guy and I even know this: nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol, if it's really stained badly, it'll just grow out.

apply nailcoat again ,dont let it dry ,quikly with cloth rub u r nail ,after wash it then apply cream.
    buff lightly.
go over it with clear nailpolish again
alcohol or acetone. or do another nail polish which is darker than purple and it wont be seen.
Methylated Spirits or Mineral Turps may work, but please be careful.
Alcohol? Dunno, I don't put on nail polish.

(You know, if you leave nail polish for some time your nails will get yellowish)

Edit: Oh I thought you said you dint have acetone. Use acetone!
If you have clear nail polish, put that one one nail at a time and let it wait a few seconds, then whipe it off and rub it with tissue. It won't take off all the colour but probably enough to get most of it off. Then use a colour you like to cover it up until you have time to buy more nail polish.
    bite it off
Am I being crazy but do you live on the Moon or something? Could you not pop to a chemist and buy some more?
the smoother side of a nail file is what i have used at times
use acetone or a nail filer
you can put another time from the nail polish and take it off as soon as you put it; each finger alone; don't let it dry!remove it as soon as you put it...
use aseton.if you don`t have, use sugar to remove.but removing by sugar takes a little time.
You could buff it off, but it will take forever
use alchohol , da best way to remove nail polish in absence of remover
Leave it a week or two and it will start to peel off.
Acetone... (or just remove your nails!).
You can start picking it off after it starts chiping

How to remove Nail Polish without damaging nails.?

I'm growing out my nails, and I usually have a mani-pedi once a week. I know the stuff in nail polish remover really damages nails (I know from experience) And I would like to know if anyone has any tricks on removing nail polish [without damaging nail].

    Thanks!

C.How to remove Nail Polish without damaging nails.?
Actually, acetone-based polish remover is really much less damaging to the nail than non-acetone versions. It removes polish much more quickly and efficiently. (I use pure acetone for glitter polish.)

After you remove polish, wash your hands, and apply and massage cuticle oil over the cuticle and nail. Let it soak in. Wait for maybe a half hour before you again wash your hands and apply fresh polish.

Be sure to use a high quality strengthener as a base coat. My fave is OPI Nail Envy. Also, use a glass (crystal) nail file. Regular sand files can cause splitting and peeling. Buffing is good too, but do it very, very sparingly, as overbuffed nails will be thin and weak.

I know this is a lot more info, but there is a lot more to do with the health of your nails then just the polish remover! :)How to remove Nail Polish without damaging nails.?
If you find that acetone is too drying on certain clients, dilute it with water! You can usually add 1 part water to 8-10 parts acetone and it will still remove polish, but be much less damaging to nails that are already having problems. This also works great for removing polish from wraps and other enchantments, without damage.

Oh, and rinse your hands under water when you're done to remove traces of it and finish with an good hand %26amp; nail cream.

Solar Oil is fab for replenishing tired and dried out talons x
Polish removers- no matter if they are acetone or non they are drying but this is very temporary. Use cuticle oil a couple times a day...even olive oil or vick's rub will do the trick and massage that onto the nail plate and cuticle area twice a day also buy a paraffin machine and use it every other day.
my nails could care less. I use acetone nail polish remover because it's more efficient and my nails don't care.
    Letting it wear off naturally.
    BY SIMPLY NOT APPLYING IT.
I dont think that there is another way to get it off.... so just let you nails grow out... i am doing the same thing now...
With a bolt cutter......at the first knuckle! Sorry love, just jesting .....but I don't know much about the subject...and thats all I could think of.

Do you remove nail strenghtener from your nails?

Okay, I put on opi nail strengthener on bare nails on my toes. I was wondering if you have to remove it after a while.? Or do you just let it sit there and it`ll vanish after a long period of time.Do you remove nail strenghtener from your nails?
No you have to wash it off with nail polish remover
