How do you remove a nail from a stud?

I completely spaced on where the studs in the walls were and I nailed a nail into one of the studs. How do I go about safely removing it from the stud? How do you remove a nail from a stud?
place a putty knife under your hammer and then pull the nail out .( pull the hammer strait down on the stud) and you will not damage the wall. How do you remove a nail from a stud?
I hope you did not nail it all the way in.

If not then all you have to do is get a flat board and hold it up against the wall, next to the nail. This will protect the wall. Pull the nail out using the claw part of your hammer.

If it is all the way in. I would leave it alone, or drive it in a little further and then fill in the nail hole. Otherwise you will tear up you drywall trying to get it out.
It's fine to have a nail in the stud, and in some cases may be preferable. But if you need to remove it then grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull. That's all!
look at your hammer on one end are claws get the head of the nail between the claws and pull away from the claws

How can i remove nail polish from my salon fake nails ?

they put so many coats and polish on it

and when i use nail polish remover it doesnt work

any ideas ?How can i remove nail polish from my salon fake nails ?
Use nail polish remover that does not contain acetone. That is Acetone-free. Regular nail polish remover with acetone will loosen the glue and disolve the nail, resulting in a rough surface or the nail coming off. People who want to remove their nails use this nail polish remover to take acrylics and other nails off to save the fee at the salon.

I would try what one of the others suggested and soak your nails. Just make sure to use the right type of polish.

Or you could always go back to the salon and pay them about $3-$5 to take/change it for you.How can i remove nail polish from my salon fake nails ?
Oh dear, it must not have the smelly acetone in it. Get one of those jars %26amp; soak your nails in it. After you do that %26amp; get it off etc, you're gonna need to treat your hands to some extra pampering %26amp; moisturizing. Good luck.
Try soaking your nails in nail polish remover for a while-maybe that will work. I use salon nails all the time and I usually take of the polish with nail polish remover...I dont know why it is not working for you :(
make sure you use non-acetone remover. the regular remover will melt the acrylic from your nails. it's more gentle and and meant for fake nails.
regular nail polish remover SHOULD work. ask the nail tech you used.
soak them in the nail polish remover for about 5 min, then start wiping the polish off.

hope i helped :)

  • What's the best way to remove dried nail polish from a t-shirt?

My daughter brought me her tpshirt that has red nail polish on it, along with her blue jeans. any ideas on how ti get it out? What's the best way to remove dried nail polish from a t-shirt?
Cellulose paint thinners (as distinct from white spirit, etc),available from car accessory shops or auto paint suppliers will dissolve it (and NOT the T-shirt!). Work outside because it's a bit whiffy! Put the T-shirt in warm soapy water immediately afterwards. What's the best way to remove dried nail polish from a t-shirt?
Straight acetone(hardware store %26amp; mask), cotton balls, and paper towels. Cover your face with a respirator or a cotton mask (you'll look life a goof ball, but trust me on this one!). Soak a cotton ball in Acetone. Put the paper towels under the material that has polish on it. Dab the cotton ball on the paint until it has bled completely onto the paper towel. Launder ASAP
    throw the t-shirt out
well, first i would call or email the company that made the nail polish and ask for recommendations.

if i didn't get a useful answer, i would try removing it gently by patting the dried nail polish a lot using whatever regular nail polish remover you or she typically use to get that brand of nail polish off your fingernails.

    It may well be impossible.
the solvents mentioned above will probably disolve the polish, but if it's red, it will leave a pink stain no matter what you do. I'd chuck the clothes.

How to remove false nail glue?

I have a little glue on a jacket in a place that is noticable. Any tips on how to remove this would be appreciated. How to remove false nail glue?
Artificial nail glue is basically super glue, also known as cyanoacrylate adhesive or ';CA';.

The only way to dissolve CA is to use a 'de-bonder', specifically, designed to return the glue to a liquid state. You can get a de-bonder from many mail order places. one link shown below. But you can also pay a bit more at a beauty supply store for a de-bonder marketed specifically for nails, also a link below.

Either way, you should test the de-bonder on an inconspicuous place inside the jacket to ensure it will not stain the material before you use it in an obvious place.

    Good luck-

Goof off (make sure you test a small spot first) if this doesn't work you can try the lemon based non toxic version of it (do not recall the name off the top of my head)

Also greased lightening is the best stuff ever!

Wink (brown bottle sold in Walmart, test a small spot on your clothing first to make sure it won't damage it)
acetone based nail polish remover is the best
hmm did u try beaching the jacket?
Dry cleaners - any other way and you risk damaging the jacket.
Maybe if you try to soak it in water, or scrub it really hard
Try acetone, or acetone based nail polish remover. Test it on an unseen area first like the inside hem to make sure it does not damage the fabric.

    Good Luck!

Should not use acetone directly on the skin because it will turn ur nails yellow or may discolor them, it is always better to use nail paint remover from better know brands like Revlon etc.

I have tried soaking them in warm soapy water and I have tried nail polish remover with acetone. Do you know a way on how to remove the nail glue off my fingers and fingernails? Thank you!Any way to remove fake nail glue off my skin and real nails?
Nail polish remover deosnt usually work because false nails are often designed to be stronger than that and are able to be painted and often you can actually use nail polish remover and the falsies to remove the nail polish without damage.

SO you need something stronger than that. Usually int he nailcare section you will be able to find a product that is specifically for removing false nails, it works especially well for gel and acrylic nails. I can't remember the brand, but I remember that the one I had came in a little pink tub.Any way to remove fake nail glue off my skin and real nails?

have you tried soaking them for several minutes with the acetone nail polish remover because that should do the trick. and if not go to the nail salon and they can do it for you.

Amway Prewash is an effective liquid for spot treatment of stains on colourfast washable fabrics. It lifts out variety of stains and helps remove grime and dirt from collars, cuffs %26amp; saree falls.

Prewash contains unique five different Stain Removal Agents, making it effective on a wide range of stains. It is effective across all fabric wash temperatures. This liquid is formulated with enzymes for extra stain removing power, which is gentle on the fabric but tough on stains.

    Prewash is ideal for removing:

    * Stubborn household soil like grease, grime, cooking oil etc.

    * Stains like dirty motor oil, collar and cuff soil

    * Stains caused by butter, ink, makeup, grass and blood

---If that doesn't work, try these tips:

Scrub the Nail Polishstain with peroxide. Peroxide will remove many fresh stains and is a popular method for removing blood. Next try baking soda. Baking soda is also great for getting oily stains out. There are some products on the market that claim to remove nail polish stains. Try these with caution. Try using them in a corner to make sure they will not remove the dye from your mattress before using on the stain. If all else fails try a Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover. Again test in a corner first before putting directly on the stain.

The best bet, since it is clear, is to just let it wear off with time.

If it really bothers you, use some non acetone nail polish remover, and a q-tip. Just rub the nail polish very gently until just that spot is gone. You might cause a more noticeable spot is my only worry.

How do you remove the nail polish from inside the nail polish bottle?

how do you get a somewhat full nail polish bottle. like has a little nail polish in it. and remove all the polish to get a nice clean empty container. and how do you do this fast and easy. what do you guys think i should do?How do you remove the nail polish from inside the nail polish bottle?
Use nail polish remover. Pour out as much nail polish as possible. Pour about a capful of nail polish remover into the nail polish bottle. Cap it and shake vigorously, then empty this mixture into a sealable, disposable container. Nail polish remover's active ingredient is flamable and toxic, so don't just toss it down your sink, or into your trash. Pour more clean nail polish remover into the bottle, seal, shake, and empty as before, and repeat until the nail polish bottle is clean. Use of a pipe cleaner may help to scrub out any stubborn residue, but if the polish has not dried it should be simple to clean. How do you remove the nail polish from inside the nail polish bottle?
Agree with the above--dump what's still in there in the garbage, fill the bottle with nail polish remover, put the lid on, and shake it. It will probably take a while, and you may end up needing to use q-tips to get all of it. Also agree with not using it for anything you plan on consuming.
    swish polish remover in it

although do NOT use the bottle for anything you would consume
put acetone in the bottle screw top on tight and shake, repeat this till it's clean

    Cleaning Nail Polish from Carpets

To remove nail polish from carpets, nail polish remover will work but you need to USE CAUTION because it can also remove dye from your carpet or upholstery.

On light colored carpet it might not be noticeable but on darker colors. TEST FIRST! Otherwise, a little nail polish will be the least of your worries. How about having to replace a whole roomful of carpet or trying to match the carpet color to dye one patch?

For carpet, always test any kind of chemical stain remover/cleaner in an out of the way place like a corner. Under a cushion might be a good spot for upholstery.

Nonacetone polish remover is probably safer but no guarantees.*nail polish remover may be harmful to carpet or fabric*

Here is more advice from FAQ Farmers:

    * DO -NOT- USE NAIL POLISH ROMOVER UNLESS U READ THE LABEL IT IS HARMFUL TO SOME DIFFERENT TYPES OF CARPETS AND FABRICS

    * I don't know if this will work for ';old'; stains, but for new ones: Use a lot of water, keep the stain wet! Use about 15-20 squirts of hair spray and 3-5 splashes of rubbing alcohol. Scrub gently with a small scrub brush. Blot with paper towels. Repeat as necessary. Don't forget to keep pouring water during the process.

    * I tried shaving cream, nail polish remover, hair spray, windex, rubbing acohol, and water. It sort of came out.

    * One tablespoon of ammonia and 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide.

    * I have very light silver gray carpet and bright red polish. I called the carpet maker and they said NAIL POLISH REMOVER. It worked! Then I cleaned the spot with a little carpet cleaner. Good as new.

    * Wow, between everything everyone said I got the nail polish out. I used nail polish remover, hydrogen peroxide, carpet cleaner, water and hair spray and it got it out!

    * I had an old nail polish stain on the carpet. I tried to remove it with nail polish remover and it did not come out at all. I thought that it was hopeless to get out so I left it there. I decided to look online and see if I could find a better solution. I used water, hair spray and rubbing alcohol and it worked on an old stain!

    * Do not use bleach. A bleach stain leeches the dye out of the carpet. After that all you will be able to do is replace the carpet or cover it with a rug.

    * Nail Polish Remover, Water, Hairspray, Hydrogen Peroxide, Carpet Stain Cleaner, Rubbing Alchohol.

    * I used Spot Remover from Stanley Steamer and a lot of rubbing and scrubbing and the spot came out.

    * Brake fluid cleaner. Works in no time.

    * I spilled dark purple nail polish on our brand new beige carpet. The lady at the local hardware store recommended ';Goof Off.'; It took quite a bit of the stain out. From there I used ammonia to get the rest up. The Goof Off worked great to get the polish off the tile %26amp; grout, too.

    * I spilled a whole bottle of BLACK nailpolish on a WHITE rug. Use OXYCLEAN! It works.

    * I used HOT WATER, NAIL VARNISH REMOVER, HAIR REMOVING CREAM, THEN SOAP POWDER IN THAT ORDER, then I scrubbed like a maniac with a dish scrubber, you know the ones with one rough side? For some reason if you dont use it in order it doesnt work!

    * I just used nail polish remover and water and it came out.

    * You can remove nail polish stain of a fabric, carpets, and countertops using Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3. We tried it on our quilt an it made the nail polish stain just disapear, like magic! You can purchast it at any hardware store. We purchased it at The Home Depot for about $6.00. It also removes permanent ink and marker stains.

    * I know this sounds crazy but using carburetor and choke cleaner (found at any auto parts store) did the trick for us. My boyfriend the ';miracle worker'; used this after I spilled bright pink polish over beige carpet. The only bad thing was the smell was pretty strong from the cleaner and it took a few days to go away, but it was amazing how it works.

    * My stain wasnt old, i spilled blue nail polish on my tan carpet, and I poured water on it, I kept it wet, then scrubed, and dabbed, tried not to push it more into the carpet, then then, i poured more water on it, and then i poured nail polish remover on it, scrubbed and dabbed it, then hair spray! put hair spay on it, and scrubbed, did that for about 15 min, and it came out.

    * Water and hydrogen peroxide. My arm now hurts from scrubbing, but it's gone.

    * Water, hair spray and nail varnish remover worked after about 15 minutes scrubbing. A little tip, use a stiff nail brush to scrub with, seemed to lift it a lot faster.
try with white spirits or turps, rinse straight away with sponge and cold water before you wash the carpet
Scissors! Too true...But if acetone wont do it, the only thing you can really do is (A): Find a shade of polish that matches the carpet...Or (B): Cut out the stained section of the carpet and sew in a patch. I know that sounds bad but if you do it right and you have a thick shag carpet you won't even notice unless you re on your knees.

Nail polish remover is acetone. You don't clean it up. Whatever it landed on and stained is ruined. It is very corrosive and highly flamable.
try a brillo pad it work on my jeans with nail polish

How can I remove red nail polish from black leather boots?

I broke a bottle of nail polish and my boots are covered all over. They were very expensive and I don't want to ruin themHow can I remove red nail polish from black leather boots?
I'd take them to a shoe repair shop. It's worth the money. How can I remove red nail polish from black leather boots?
Take it to a shoe repair place if you can, they have all kinds of great solvents. If you can't, put some nail polish remover on a Q-tip and use it very sparingly to get off the polish. Keep in mind that leather is cow skin, so this should work fine. Then get a good shoe polish and work it in until the area turns black again. If they are shiny boots, you may lose some of the shine.
If you are set on doing it yourself, try using Non-Acetone nail polish remover on a small spot first and see how it affects the leather.

Otherwise, seek advice from a shoe repair shop.
you might try goo gone or WD40. with both of them being oil based products they would not be harming your leather.

Both these methods worked a bit but the stain is still very obvious. Is there something I can do that will remove the stain? How can I remove a nail polish stain off my carpet?
Brake fluid cleaner. Works in no time.

seriously... I tried it and it works!

You should also try hairspray. Dab it... DO NOT RUB. it'll only make the stain worse. Oxyclean for carpets and oxyclean kitchen cleaner works well too. Test all this out on carpet inside a closet before you do it on the spot. It may cause discoloration to your carpet. Try Shout triple action laundry stain remover or Shout Anvanced Gel. These Two are colorsafe.

But before treating any stain or attempting to use a stain remover, you should first:

    - Gently scrape the nailpolish with a spoon. break it up so that the stain remover can get deep into the stain.

    - Make sure you have like white washcloth or plain white paper towel handy to blot stains. Dyed fabrics or colorful papertowel can make the stain worse if it bleeds onto the carpet.

-Be sure to pre-test any spot removal solutions or chemicals to make sure it wont damage your carpet.

DAB DON';T RUB!How can I remove a nail polish stain off my carpet?
    cut out the stain

go to a closet with same carpet

use the cut out piece as a template

    cut the good piece

place it in the ruined area when u are satisfied

    then

    Glue it down
If some one gives you a good answer please let me know, I spilled red nail polish on my tan carpet. Everything that I tried just made a bigger mess. Nail polish didn't work, it just made the carpet around it whiter. DON'T try hairspray. This makes a huge mess. I've even attempted some of the magic carpet cleaning solutions you find in stores. Buy a nice rug to cover over the stain or pull the carpet up.
When i got nail polish on my pants a friend told me to use shaving cream just work it in and let it sit for about 3 min. then wipe it off it worked for my pants but i dont know about carpet if that dosent work use a nail polish remover with acetone and dab at the spot dont rub.

How can you remove purple nail polish from a white carpet? Also spaghetti sauce?

Oof. Good luck - that's going to be very hard. The best thing you could do is ask for help... if you do the wrong thing, it could prevent anything from working. How can you remove purple nail polish from a white carpet? Also spaghetti sauce?
Try this. Ina spray bottle put one cup of water, one cup of ammonia and one cup of dih soap. Spray on the stains and let sit for at least 10 minutes. This removed red nail polish from a gray carpet for me! It was on the carpet for three months!
That special water always works i forget the name or any stain remover and also laundry deturgent actually works the best

How do you remove finguer nail polish from the screen of your cell phone?

People have said tha fingure nail remover will eat your plastic screen away. How do you remove finguer nail polish from the screen of your cell phone?
Scratch it off with your finger is what would probably work. I don't think finger nail polish remover will take off the screen. How do you remove finguer nail polish from the screen of your cell phone?
Nail polish remover will work just fine. Most nail polish removers use acetone to dissolve the nail polish, and are only harmful to materials made of acetates. Fortunately your phone's plastics are almost definitely not made out of acetates.

Be careful not to use too much (Q-tip recommended), so that the liquid doesn't get into the sensitive electronics of your phone.
I think you should use nail polish remover. You should do it with a q tip, and dip it just enough to get it moist. Just keep re-dipping until the polish is gone.

I dont think its a good idea to scrape it off with your fingernail, this might cause more damage thatn nail polish remover since you will be putting pressure on the screen..
yes, remover will soften the plastic and ruin it (it will turn cloudy--TRUST ME! My sister did it to hers!) Best option is to wait until it's dry and carefully scratch it off with your fingernail. (Or have someone else do it--I'm assuming you just did your nails!)
I used Finger Nail Polish Remover like a month ago on my cell phone screen and its still fine.

Just dont use a lot. It works though!

Nail polish remover. Just do it carefully and don't get it too wet.
Use a non-acetone remover, and delute it with water, if not it will damage your screen.
If you use nail polish remover you will probably cause even more damage.
    nail polish remover,

    maybe.
    throw if off a cliff
try putting it in the washing machine, and then get a new phone

You could try a product called ';Oops';, it is available in the painting section of hardware or walmarts, maybe kmart, not sure. It is specifically used to remove paint...which nail polish is.
OUCH !!!!!!!!!! That's a hard one, I ask a friend that does this for a living { laying } ceramic floors....... He says you may have to get some Grout and cover it up . to hide the stain, if doesn't cost alot for a very small package. or find a company that does this and ask if you could get just a very small bit.

I wouldn't put anything on it that would make it wet since the stain will just spread out. Wait for the polish to dry completely then try to lift it or flake it off with tweezers or sand it off with a course nail file as gently as possible to protect the fabric.
    Try some nail polish remover.

How can I remove finger nail polish from leather in my car ?

I have tried nail polish remover without any success. It ran down the side, and is thicker on the side. HELP !How can I remove finger nail polish from leather in my car ?
This isn't a disastor, but may require a couple trys. You need something to soften the leather and get under the polish. The first thing that comes to mind that won't damage the leather is Permatex lanolin hand cleaner. A can is no more than $1.29. You don't want the stuff with grit in it. Rub that on the area to soften it up and try to remove the polish with a nylon instrument, or something that won't rip the leather. Nylon is good.

A second method would be to apply mink oil and warm it gently with a hair dryer or something hot. That should get under the polish and you can lift it up. Don't use a lighter to warm it, you'll burn something.

Okay there's two for you.How can I remove finger nail polish from leather in my car ?
Nail polish remover may ';soften it some'; but try a small needle or point and ';pick it off'; a little at a time. If leather loses color you can get some leather dye to touch it up. Go slowly removing it and touching it up.

Gently gently....Like a doctor.. Strive to ';do no harm'; to what's already done.

    Good luck

a really long time. i closed a door on my foot last december (2006) and the nail was completely grown in september 2007 and that was just the middle toe, not the big one.How long does it take a removed toe nail to grow back?
It will take over a year to feel normal, if it grows back at all.

    Happy fungal management!
If you had it removed, the doctor should have removed the nail bed and matrix to keep it from growing back. It will take a while, maybe a year, and yes, it could grow back ingrown. Did you have it removed for being ingrown? If so, it probly will become that way again. Some people's toenails just grow that way. If you had it removed for fungal growth, it may grow back fine.
why would you have it removed?? and it probly takes just as long as it would when its clipped exept a little longer since it stll has to pass the toe's tip

What you need to do is find a carpet ';restoration'; company.(not just cleaning)

Some of these companies have specialty red stain remover. They can also patch the carpet as a last resort and replace the patch with some carpet in the closet where its less conspicuous. trust me it works
Try pure acetone that you buy in hardware store, and don't leave to your toddler!

    Nail tips removing solution!?

I had a full set of nail tips done and I cut them off as they were annoying me, I want to know where can I buy nail tip removing solution? rather than go to a salon and have them remove whats left of them Thanks for your help.Nail tips removing solution!?
If you go to a salon, they'll just soak your nails in an acetone solution, and slowly buff off each layer. It's an irritating process, and simply allowing each nail to work it's way off naturally may be less painstaking. However, if you want to try it yourself (without trying to tear off the tips) find a beauty supply store--here in Michigan, we have ';Sally's Beauty Supply'; outlets--and get a bottle of acetone..it's fairly cheap. Failing that, you can get acetone nail polish remover in any store, and soak your nails in that.

There may be a better solution, but that's what I found when I was in cosmetology school. Good luck!Nail tips removing solution!?
    soak in pure acetone.
Do your side have any supermarkets or mini marts that sell nail removal solution? Just go there and get one. Cheap nail removal solutions work as good as the solutions used in the shops!
    not know
acetone nail polish remover. soak for a while and peel it off.

then use a nail file to finish.
acetone based nail polish remover does the trick. You will notice that your nails will become weak and brittle so you may want to invest in a good clear nail strengthener like nailtiques.

If the stain remains after you have tried using nail polish remover, then you may want to try a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water. Let the fabric sit in the sun for a few hours for maximum effectiveness and keep it moistened with the hydrogen peroxide and water mixture.

This method should be used only on white clothes or colorfast clothes. Always test in an inconspicuous area to make sure it will not harm your fabric.

you should just go to a drugstore like cvs or walgreens and buy a special soak, and soak them off. also you can go to a nail salon where they can rather soak them off or take them off professionally. soaking them off will probably take longer to get off then getting the fake nails professionally taken off.
soak them in hot water for like an hour
go to the nearest Sally Hanson Beauty Store and there is some soak you can buy.
i've done this quite a few times. the quickest way to get them off is to bite them or use a metal finger nail file to loosen them and pull 'em off. it may be a little painful, but that's how i got mine off the same day. Otherwise, you'll just have to wear them till they loosen on their on which will take about two to three weeks. then again you could try putting oil on your fingers and massaging them and then soak them into warm water. this should loosen them up more quickly and less painful.
You could insert a metal file or cuticle stick underneath and gently force them off. Alternatively soak them in acetone nail varnish remover for a few minutes and they'll come off. Or if you don't mind, just file them down to a shorter length.
you suposse to soak them in nail polish remover
put ur nails into a warm bowl and set it out for @ least 1hr. Then take them out quickly.
that's easy. u put it on hot water. and it will come off but u can't put them on again.
soak them in acetone nail poilish remover

Why do we have to remove nail polish before our volleyball tournaments?

im on a national volleyball club team and its on the code of conduct that we have to ';remove all nail polish before tournament play'; i mean its not a big deal for me but why? i don't know.

help please??Why do we have to remove nail polish before our volleyball tournaments?
In a contact sport like volleyball, injuries occur. One way to detect the amount of Oxygen in the bloodstream is by the color of your fingernails (think pink). If you are unconscious, the seriousness of your condition can be determined by the color of your fingernails. Why do we have to remove nail polish before our volleyball tournaments?
I don't think it is matching any rule-books, but hey that might be why it is part of your ';code of conduct';.

When the whole team can go as **one** and can obey any discipline set up by the code of conduct (no matter how weird it is), you have a chance to be part of a great club... I don't seem to be able to find any other explanation, so sorry you would have to sign that sheet... guess it was drafted by an old-school coach.
Damn, I used to always wear nail polish for club.

I used to even write on my hands sometimes, writing things like ';Be Beast!'; on my palms in sharpie marker for games.

Idk, maybe your things just really strict, ha.
Because the focus should be the team, not the individual...and on teamwork, not vanity.
dang. we didn't have to do that i guess because so they wouldn't be any distractions like bright green nail polish and such like that. plus everyone on your team has to be matching
umm... i'm on a national team also and i don't have to remove my nail polish. they're normally bright green for our games.
    so the whole team matches
    maybe cuz its a distraction

My coach never makes us do that..maybe its just one of ur clubs rules

I am a guy, so I don't paint my nails, but I would think rubbing alcohol would work.

Can i paint on gel nails and remove with normal nail varnish remover?

No, not if they are UV gel nails. Those require a UV lamp, and cannot be soaked off. While there are a couple of nail gels available that are soakable, and do not require a UV lamp, these gels are not any good. Don't waste your time or money on them. Can i paint on gel nails and remove with normal nail varnish remover?
you need to but the correct varnish remover

boots sell itCan i paint on gel nails and remove with normal nail varnish remover?
no, you'll ruin them if u use an normal remover
if its acetone free nail varnish your nails will be fine
as long as you use an acetone free remover...
the varnish remover will ruin the false nails so I suggest that you dont do that
It will only work with an acetone free nail varnish remover x
You have to make sure that you use non-acetone nail polish remover with acrylic nails, so I assume the same goes for gel nails as well.

Anyone have suggestions of how to heal my nails after removing acrylic nails?

I love acrylic nails. I have worn them off and on for several years. However, I found that I am too chemically sensitive to be wearing these. I feel so much better having them off now.

But my fingernails are so weak and thin now, that they are painful. Anyone know some ways to help heal my fingernails?Anyone have suggestions of how to heal my nails after removing acrylic nails?
I would first use a file/buffer over the top of them to get them as smooth and as even as possible.

Then you can push back the cuticles, trim them and use Nutra Nails 5-7 day nail growth. This is not a polish, you can also get a polish that will protect your nails while the are going through ';the change';. Works great .. good luckAnyone have suggestions of how to heal my nails after removing acrylic nails?
I had the exact same problem. I broke a nail when I had the acrylic on %26amp; my nail started bleeding (because their so thin). I have stopped wearing the acrylic now, its been over a year since I've worn acrylic. I normally keep then short but I use this clear polish name Mystic Nail. It has formaldehyde in it and it helps my nails. My nails are stronger now but the only problem I have now is when I wear colored polish it chips within 2 days. So I just use the clear polish. Hope this helps. Oh and the Mystic Nail Polish cost $1.99 but it's hard to find because not everyone sells it. So if you can't find it at your local drug store try this site.. Good Luck.

    http://www.amazon.com/Mystic-Nail-mystic鈥?/a>
this is what happened to me

i used olive oil rubbed into them at night (someone recommended this instead of an expensive nail oil ) whenever you do anything that may damage your nails like washing up- use gloves and use a hand and nail cream a couple of times a day

mine are now back to normal -takes about 6 weeks
I've had the same problem before. When I get my nails off, I usually will buff them to make them smooth. Then put one coat of a color polish on them. That will sometimes help by adding a layer of protection. Also, increase your intake of calcium. I take prenatal vitamins everyday and that makes my nails really strong. (it also helps your hair growth too!)

    :):):):):):)
They sell clear nail polish at drug stores that helps heal nails. It says it on the bottle. Putting on a couple of coats will also thicken them up too. I would keep them really short until they are strong again..

I think they sell the nailpolish in different colors too.

Include more protein in your diet too. (nails are about 95% protein) Also, keep them moist with lotion and don't cut your cuticles. Prenatal vitamins also help.

How do you remove nail polish?

a nail file or get clear polish put it on your fingernail and wipe it away you may have to do it a few times but eventually it will get all the polish offHow do you remove nail polish?
Try rubbing alcohol, its a lot of rubbing but it works , actually use a file first and then the rubbing alcohol, what the file doesn't get the alcohol will!

    Hope that helps you!
Put 2 cups of lemon juice and 3teaspoons of vinegar.Soak your nails in that for 20minutes then rub some clear nail polish on it right away

Something that is alcohol based or a scourer to rub the polish off.
soak your nails in warm water for ten minutes and try using rubbing alchohol.

Is there a way to remove nail polish instead of using finger nail polish remover?

You can scrape it off with a nail clipper. Your nails won't look very nice afterward because they'll have white marks all over them but you can cover them up with a better color. Or if you don't want color you could just make them look nice (and shiny) with clear polish. Is there a way to remove nail polish instead of using finger nail polish remover?
    shaving cream
you can always re-apply nail polish and rub it off one nail at a time
Put more nail polish on and rub it off while it is wet. It will take some of the dried stuff off because it has a solvent in it to keep it liquid.
wait and let your nails grow and cut till there's no polish
go to the store and but some more remover while wearing gloves
You can try using vinegar or just file it off
    rubbing alcohol
    sometimes perfume does it too.

If you have 'pure alcohol' in bottles you can buy from pharmacy does it too.

perfume, i think brandy as well but not sure.

    also, may be Jiff?
    Not that I'm aware of.
i use alcohole( green ) to get it off you just have't to scrub a lil harder
You could wait until it gets worn off, but if you want to do it now, then you could scratch/peel it off w/ something (your nails, a file, whatever works).
    peel, bite and chip away!

    Nail Ripped Removing Acrylics?

Help.....removing my acrylics, one stubborn nail ripped a rather large hole in the center of my nail, leaving exposed skin. I need a new set tomorrow for vacation....is it safe? I assume I will have to put something on the open sore....but WHAT?Nail Ripped Removing Acrylics?
When you go in tomorrow, ask you manicurist. If he/she's good, he/she will know. I don't suggest getting a new set, however, until your nail has healed. There is risk of infection and all sorts of weird stuff could go wrong.Nail Ripped Removing Acrylics?
Do not have another acrylic over the damaged nail while skin is exposed. One must be more careful about their health than their beauty......I know of a person with a toenail prob 2 years ago - very damaging medical problems from that even then.......which last year then became a ';staph'; infection in her spine - doctor can only connect reason back to pedicure.prob.......and she has spent months on her back, and it may take 1-2 years till she is back to normal health.

Beauty can be re-arranged (think cleverly).

    Our health must come first!

Get a file and rough up the surface of your nails a bit. Then pour acetone into a GLASS bowl (not plastic!), soak your nails in it and put a warm towel over the bowl so the fumes don't rise. Wait about 15-20 minutes.

Btw, did you get a gel coat on top? If you stuck your hand under a UV light after they put a clear topcoat on, you're gonna have to file them down extra hard, because the gel coat won't dissolve in acetone.

Good luck! Remember, don't rip them off! That's gonna really mess up your nails.
All you have to do is soak your nails in nail polish remover and they will be able to come off easier, without the pain. • Removing nail polish from leather boots.?

So I just bought these adorable gray leather boots and while I was painting my nails I spilled some bright red nail polish on them. It was only a small spot, and I took most of it off with a little bit of nail polish remover. However, in that spot, it is a lighter gray than the rest of the boot. Is there any way I can fix this? (p.s. I know I'm being a little bit of a perfectionist by asking this, but I am lol)Removing nail polish from leather boots.?
As you have used nail polish remover (a solvent) to remove the nail varnish this has removed some of the pigment/finish on the leather along with the nail varnish. This lighter area will now need the pigment/finish replacing to match the rest of the leather. The area cannot be 'cleaned' better and 'conditioners' will not replace the colour.

This is best left ot a professional as any further damage will make the matter worse.

You can always cut it out just to be safe ;)How to remove nail polish from clothing?
Anyone who says you can't get nailpolish out of clothing is wrong. Well, white clothes anyway. I recently just spilled bright pink nailpolish on my new white shirt. I immediately put shout on in, and rubbed it in, hard. I waited a few hours, came back to the shirt, put more shout on, and rubbed it in again. Then right after, I sprayed it again just to let it soak in. After a couple more hours, I put it in the wash in hot water and waitied till it was done. I pulled it out and put more shout on in, rubbed it in hard, waited a few hours, and then did the same thing as the first time. After i had pulled it out of the wash the second time, I could tell the stain was starting to dissappear. I kept up this process until, 2 days later, my stain is gone and has NO sign of ever being there
Acetone will probably bleach the cloth if it has any color to it, and leave a stain of the polish. If you can get your hands on an ultrasonic cleaner that might be the best way. Or if it is like a sweate or something you might be able to carefully cut it out.
    Nail polish remover
Use nail polish remover and thats the only way.
Allow the nail polish to dry. Then try spraying it with Dreft Spray. Rub material together like you would for any other stain. It may not work if the nail polish is a dark color, but it wouldn't hurt. Be careful if you decide to use nail polish remover. It may bleach the fabric.

i wouldn't do nail polish remover, last time i did that and i had a big stain where i had put the nail polish remover. yes you can, i'm licensed and have been doing nails for years...as long as it is non-acetone...acetone will soften and eventually wear down the gel...and repeated use with acetone remover can crack and cause nails to look dingy...also after removing slighty buff nails, to ensure they are sooth before reapplying polish...also reapply a uv protecting clear coat of polish asap...this helps to keep them looking natural and not yellow...Can I use non-acetone nail polish remover to remove nail polish on gel nails?
call a nail salon and ask them whats best for removing polish from gel nails...they do it all the time when they do fill-ins...if they wont answer your question then call a local beauty supply store like sally's or etc....good luck

This will take a little work. Get some polish remover and try to soften it enough to scratch it off with a plastic knife. Then if you don't get it all, its stripping time. Homer Formby's. Strip that section. And depending on if it removes some of the stain, reapply the stain, careful not to overlap. Then let it dry and polyeurethane over that. Good luck. (of course you can sand it if you have one)
If it was me I'd take some nail polish remover with a q tip and lightly rub it. I wouldn't rub like crazy but almost dab it until it's less noticeable.
Nail Polish. If it's a laminated wood floor, this will work perfectly. The pros use this to remove the glue that seeps up. If it's real, then again nail polish to soften it up, and then gently scrap it away with a dull knife. I would try this in an unobvious spot first so you can see what will happen. Good luck.

Sally Hansens nailpolish remover comes in a jar type thing with a big sponge and 5 holes to soak your nails into and then it comes right off.
    To remove polish from:

Acrylic nails - use non-acetone polish remover. Acetone remover can damage them.

Gel nails - Either acetone, or non-acetone works fine and won't damage the nail.

To remove acrylic nails, you can go to a salon and have them soaked off - never let them use nippers and pull them off, or use a nail tip to pry them off. This will cause you lots of pain, and it will damage your natural nail.

Or you can do them yourself. Get a small bowl, and fill it with pure acetone - any will work as long as it is labeled as 'pure' acetone. Fill it only deep enough to cover your nails when they are placed in it. BTW, be really careful with acetone, as it is highly flammable. Don't smoke, or have any sparks of open flames anywhere near it. If you want to speed up the process a bit, place a second, larger bowl under the bowl of acetone, and fill the second bowl about halfway with hot water. This will help to warm the acetone, thus speeding up the process. Don't put acetone in the microwave, or on the stove or anything like that. It is dangerous to do so. Use hot water instead in another bowl.

First, either file, or use clippers to remove as much of the nail extension as you can without going too far down and taking off your natural nail also. Just the acrylic nail.

Than, apply some vaseline on your cuticle area and on your fingertips - but not the nail itself - to protect your skin from acetone's drying effects.

Then place your fingers in the acetone and cover the bowl with a small towel. just don't get it wet with acetone! This will help keep it warm, and keep the level of nasty fumes down too.

Soak for about 20-30 minutes, then - one finger at a time or else the acrylic will harden back up - gently scrape the acrylic off your nail using either a metal cuticle pusher, or an orange stick. Do this gently. If you do not get it all off the first try, simply soak that nail for another 5 minutes or so and try again. Repeat on all the remaining nails, one at a time. It helps if you can have someone do the scraping for you, that way you can soak both hands at the same time, making the whole process faster. After you are done, wash your hands well. Then use a good quality cuticle oil and coat each nail and cuticle area with it to help put moisture back into your skin and nails.

Just do the whole removal process gently, and do not pull, yank, or tear at the acrylic. This is not the way to do it. Your nails will probably feel soft and squishy for the first day or so after you remove ther acrylic, but this is normal. They should be fine after 24-48 hours. Take good care of them after you remove the nails, like using cuticle oil 2-3 times a day, every day.

Try buying a bottle of 100% acetone. Normal nail polish has very littler or no acetone in it and it doesn't work very well. I use 100% acetone and it comes off almost instantly. Just don't get it on your clothes. :)
