How to remove Nail Polish from Hardwood Floor?

HI. My kid dumped nail polish on my hardwood floor. How do I remove the nail polish without damaging the finish on the floor???How to remove Nail Polish from Hardwood Floor?
There are non-acetone nail polish removers. Try buying some and try using it on an area of the floor that won't show first. Only use enough to dampen a soft cloth. Then, if it doesn't take the finish off, work slowly and gently over the polish without trying to get any on the rest of the floor. If non-acetone remover isn't strong enough and the stain is very noticable, you might have to go with the stonger type of remover. If the finish ends up coming off, you can try to match it with something like Polystain. Use thin coats, applied with a sponge brush, and sand with very fine (220 grit) sandpaper between coats to smooth and level it. It may not come out perfect, but it will porbably be a lot less noticable than the nail polish stain. How to remove Nail Polish from Hardwood Floor?
Making a rather big assumption that you actually have a true hardwood floor and that because you know its value and wish to properly care for it, you have a carefully applied paste wax on it. then you may use acetone (regular nail polish remover) to remove the nail polish, but don't scrub, just wipe with a clean cloth wetted with acetone, and then reapply wax to the spot.
Do not use nail polish, it will destroy the finish on your floor. Try to scrape it off slowly. Or you can wait a while and let it sit there, eventually it will go alway.

try rubbing cooking oil on it and let it sit, than try to scrape it off.
use paint thiner that if you have the pre finish hard wood floor
If this is a prefinished floor and you have some left over pieces than put some nail polish on that piece, dry, than go to the paint store and ask for a trial run of some solvents. If you do as nightstal says, then you'll be very sorry in under 90seconds!!!!!
try using your fingernail to scrape it off. I spilled paint on my hardwood floor and got it off this way.
Best bet is scrape it off.
there is not really any good way to remove the nail polish without a little damage to the finish, but i have removed it with a polish remover without acetone and this worked pretty well. just dampen a rag and do not saturate the area wipe a little at a time until it comes off. or you could use a product called goof off i hear this is good too.
not with n/p remover, I spilt some on my floor and it took the varnish right off

cant you scrap it off
