I had marks on my wardrobe left by sticky tape, so I tried to remove it using nail polish remover and it just smudged the sticky tape marks. So how can I remove the nail polish remover smudge?

you took the finish off of your wardrobe.
move it or cover it so the ';bald'; spot is not seen.
